Coronavirus – fighting the real enemy

Well I sure hope and pray that everyone is doing well out there and standing under the victory and power that was purchased for us on the cross of Calvary through the shedding of the perfect blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As I know this blog gets read beyond the shores of the United Kingdom, I am aware that we will all be in different phases of the Coronavirus pandemic.

There is so much that can be said about this time (and a lot has been said already), but I have chosen to focus on God, rather than the multitude of videos purporting a million and one different theories or hypotheses about the origins of the Coronavirus. One, because it’s unhelpful and feeds into fear and anxiety and two, because most of these theories are and remain unproven and so profit me nothing.

To my mind, as long as humanity is humanity, there will always be an element within the majority of those outside of Christ, and some of us within too, whom continue to build our Towers of Babel and seek to proclaim ourselves as our own gods, just as was then (early post-flood):

4 They said, “Come, let us build a city for ourselves, and a tower whose top will reach into the heavens, and let us make a [famous] name for ourselves, so that we will not be scattered [into separate groups] and be dispersed over the surface of the entire earth [as the Lord instructed].” (Genesis 11:4 AMP)

Therefore there will always be issues that will affect this world and Jesus told us that “wickedness will increase” (Matthew 24:12 NIV). In fact, when asked by the disciples as to what would be the signs of the times and the end of the age, Jesus said:

“…Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled; for [a]all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, [b]pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

(Matthew 24:4-8 NKJV, emphasis added)

Notice, Jesus mentioned pestilences amongst other things and more specifically that these were the beginning of sorrows, not the end of time or the age.

So, I have chosen to stand in the authority that Christ has given me and fight against the Coronavirus in the first place that every Christian must take their stand and that is the heavenly (supernatural) realm:

Authority

18 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth [a]shall have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth [b]shall have [already] been loosed in heaven.

19 “Again I say to you, that if two [c]believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them.”

(see Matthew 18:18-20 AMP, emphasis added)

Our armour, our (real) enemy & the battle ground:

10 In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. 11 Put on the full armour of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armour of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. 13 Therefore, put on the complete armour of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. 14 So stand firm and hold your ground, having [a]tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart), 15 and having [b]strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. 16 Above all, lift up the [protective] [c]shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

18 With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all [d]God’s people.

(Ephesians 6:10-18 AMP, emphasis added)

Clearly there are some caveats, as what we pray must be in alignment with and in surrender to the will of God, and even when the prayer has been answered, the manifestation can sometimes still be contested/delayed (see Daniel’s experience with the archangel Gabriel and the Prince of Persia in Daniel 10:12-14 AMP). But ultimately we know that if we stand on God’s word and in righteousness pray, the disarmed and defeated enemy (Colossians 2:15 AMP) of old will have to give up his stronghold.

So whilst I continue to give up the un-surrendered areas of my life where I still try to reign as king and seek to hand over sovereignty to Christ – “Amen Brother Don, I feel you” – I refuse to get carried away with the fear and anxiety that has taken a grip over nations as a result of the pandemic. Let’s not forget that it is the same defeated enemy that is behind this as has been behind every other act of wickedness and Jesus has given us the tools in which to defeat him.

JJ Bunny Video – ‘Coronavirus Madness’

This video is one that I do recommend watching as it gets to the heart of the matter (sorry it’s not in HD).

Coronavirus Madness – JJ Bunny

JJ Bunny was living the life that many clamour for as a successful actress, but when faced with the reality of her soul condition outside of Christ, her life changed drastically. JJ’s testimony can be viewed here:  https://youtu.be/f9Xa45OEOJY

And finally…

A thought for the day:

‘The bitterness of grief that follows a vicious tongue (damaging words) or a vicious deed (act), is a far heavier burden (to carry) than suffering an injustice.’

Self-justification seldom brings lasting peace to our souls, it is better to let God justify us.

God bless you all & much love,

‘But test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good.’
1 Thessalonians 5:21 (New Living Translation)

During this pandemic, follow your government guidelines (1 Peter 2:13-25 Key verses 13 &14 AMP) and pray without ceasing.

And remember, our loving Father Loves us…
