Waiting isn’t easy. It requires:
a) Vision – after all, we are usually waiting to see something different to our current situation or for an experience of one type or another;
b) Determination – “Determination is a positive emotional feeling that involves persevering towards a difficult goal in spite of obstacles. Determination occurs prior to goal attainment and serves to motivate behaviour that will help achieve one’s goal”; (Wikipedia – Determination)
c) Intention – you are going to need to be intentional about waiting, it won’t just happen. “Intention is a mental state that represents a commitment to carrying out an action or actions in the future. Intention involves mental activities such as planning and forethought”; (Wikipedia – Intention)
d) Belief – we have to believe in what we are waiting for, otherwise we wouldn’t wait and finally
e) Patience – we will need to apply a lot of this during the waiting period. Patience isn’t just about our ability to wait, but how we act during our times of waiting.
As the scripture informs us, the benefits far outweigh the cost. Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to lead/show us how, encourage us whilst and help us to ‘wait upon the Lord’.
May God bless you,

“But test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good.”
1 Thessalonians 5:21 (New Living Translation)
